Most information of activists and activist organisations is stored digitally as messages, calls, documents, and more. This digital information is collected by various organizations who use it to repress our movements. For example, the state collects information about activist actions in order to stop them and prosecute the organizers. We can secure our digital information by adopting digital security practices, and it's crucial that we do so, because the better we secure our digital information, the harder it will be to repress our movements and stop us from fighting for justice.
Securing our information consists of making it only accessible to those who we want to share it with, while making it inaccessible to everyone else, especially those who want to use our information against our interests, such as the police state, surveillance capitalist companies or fascists. There are a number of things you can do to improve your secure your digital information:
